CORDLESS POWER REDEFINED: Innovative high torque impact wrench with interchangeable
drives now available in a 20V cordless design
DAVIDSON, N.C., March, 2025 – Ingersoll Rand Inc., (NYSE: IR), a global leader in reliable
and innovative power tools, has introduced a new cordless 1/2” impact wrench. The W7153
DXS® Cordless Impact Wrench is redefining the cordless landscape with the patented DXS®
Drive Xchange System™ which features interchangeable direct drives in 3/8”, 1/2”, and 3/4” that
eliminate the need for adapters.

impacts that introduced the Drive Xchange System™ to the world. This system features a full
line of direct connect impact sockets and anvils that eliminate the power loss of traditional

Previewed at the 2024 SEMA show in November, the W7153 DXS® Cordless
Impact Wrench was an instant hit. The tool allows technicians to save space in
their toolkit with interchangeable anvils in 3/8”, 1/2”, and 3/4” drive sizes as well
as extended lengths that reduce the need for multiple impact sizes and/or
adapters to complete their tasks. Tight-fitting DXS® attachments (including a
full line of direct drive sockets in SAE, metric, shallow, and deep configurations)
deliver up to 15% more torque to fasteners vs. traditional square drives, making
the tool more effective.
The W7153 delivers the power of an air tool with up to 1,600 ft.-lbs. of breakaway torque in a
lightweight 6.1lb build designed for comfortable all-day use. The patented 360° LED light
eliminates shadows no matter the corner or crevice, while a durable aluminum hammer case,
impact-resistant body, and first-in-cordless direct hammer lubrication system ensure that this
impact wrench stands up to the toughest jobs. The tool also features an IPX6-certified
environmental rating to protect against water ingress.
