“Mopar played a huge role in setting up the American muscle car movement during the late 1950s and throughout the1960s,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Chrysler announced its first HEMI engine nearly 75 years ago, eventually dominating racetracks in the 1960s. These Mopar-powered muscle cars have become highly coveted among collectors, and we have several extraordinary examples crossing the block in Palm Beach. For example, there’s a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock Last Call (Lot #776.1), one of just 276 Super Stocks produced for the model year, that’s powered by a 6.2-liter HO supercharged HEMI V8 engine with 807 horsepower and 707 ft/lbs of torque.”
Late-model Mopars also include a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Last Call Black Ghost Edition (Lot #678). Named “Black Ghost” to honor the legendary status and performance of its predecessors, it is powered by a HEMI V8 with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Jailbreak (Lot #773) has nine actual miles and features a custom convertible conversion. Capable of producing 807 horsepower with its supercharged HEMI V8, a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak Last Call Edition (preview) on the docket has 2,003 actual miles.
“From restored to customized and classic to late model, our Palm Beach docket is filled with some of the very best Mopars,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Each is a unique time stamp on the history of the American muscle car movement that continues to be an important part of our culture. For example, the 1992 Dodge Viper (Lot #772) is a hand-assembled first generation build that comes with extensive documentation. It’s not only a remarkably preserved example, but a significant piece of our American automotive heritage, and it’ll be sold in Palm Beach with No Reserve.”
Classic Mopar-powered vehicles set to cross the block in Palm Beach include a custom 1973 Plymouth Barracuda (Lot #669.1) that has been driven 880 miles since the build was completed. Finished in Alpine White with custom body panel stripes, it has a modern V8 HEMI engine and features Barracuda digital gauges, illuminated custom start panel, power windows, door panels and headliner.
